Stream Energy Sucks Ass
I've been using Stream Energy now since July 9, 2007. I bought a new house and for 3 months my bill was only $67 dollars. I figured this was an error so when I received an adjusted invoice for 3 months for $500 dollars I expected it. However, it is now March and I just received a bill for $927.00. I called because I thought it was just an error and they said, "No, we billed you based on estimated usage, not actual usage." When I told them that I live alone and that my bill had never been over $250 even in the hottest months of August and September, he said that I might have squirrels in my attic chewing through the wiring.
So basically I am stuck with a bill for 450 dollars for 2 months worth of electricity. My house is only 1700 square feet and I normally keep the thermostat in the low 70's in the summer and around 68 in the winter.
It just doesn't add up. I could understand an increase of a 100 dollars, but for my bill to double without a good reason makes me believe that somehow I am being scammed.
My rate is .1350 and they said I used 3392 Kwh in one month of electricity.

I agree. I signed up with Stream Energy just before summer started this year in 2008. My initial months bills were lower and then they hit me up big. They even threatened to cancel my service during Hurricane Ike when there was a directive in effect NOT to disconnect anyone's service. Unfortunately I signed a contract and am a hostage now.
Iagree with everything that has been said about Stream Energy.That company is just a duck with a bleeding ass hole.
I agree!!! Stream Energy is HORRIBLE. Their customer service does not believe in helping their customers, they only believe in taking your money!
I'm an associate with Ignite who sells Stream. I am about to cancel my membership and will cancel the service ASAP. I have had to speak to cs 9 times in three months and all but 2 of them were the rudest CSR's I have ever encountered with any company. I can't, in good faith, try to sell this company to anyone.
SCREAM ENERGY???? I'm a single mom and come to find out my husband signed us up before the divorce b/c his family was selling. I have always used RELIANT as they are RELIABLE. Today I have to go get charitable help to pay my $450 bill because after the contract finally ended my rate went sky high. 10 months ago I found out about the contract and raised hell. That's only AFTER I could find their number online. Total INSANITY that an agent was yelling at me that my husband signed us up~too bad. Today I'm free at last. Can't wait to bump this. haha. Scream Energy is the WORST. Oh yeah, coldest month of the year~a banking error on their part and they turned off my electricity. My 3 year old and I had to check in to a hotel. SEE YA JERKS!!!
PS Tried to make me pay a DEPOSIT when I HAVE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE AFTER THEIR BANKING ERROR ON MY BILL PAY ACCOUNT. HAHA. RELIANT SAYS THEY CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE ME BACK.
Dumped the electric company that sucks and the idiot and his get rich quick schemes. He tried to invest in gas (fuel) pills that save gas. I put the brakes on that. Total scheme, just like SCReam energy. See ya losers. And all those pill sellers are in jail now.
