My pants are tight!

Yesterday I woke up early and started my Holidays the way I have started them the last 5 years – with the Turkey Trot! If you remember from last year I mentioned maybe once or twice that I ran 8 miles and this year I ran/walk/jogged/sprinted/hobbled 8 miles. Today as I type this I am hopped up on Aleve and it is doing almost NOTHING to alleviate the soreness in my glutes, calves, hamstrings, and quads. I can barely walk. I don’t even want to think about having to go number #2 again because that requires more quad usage than you realize and without going into too much detail let’s just say that it is very uncomfortable.

Turkey was gobbled at my parents house this year. Turkey, catfish, smoked sausage, ham and at least 8 side dishes – maybe more. It was the biggest Thanksgiving feast we have ever had. I had just ran 8 miles and was so ravenous that I consumed 2 large plates of food without batting an eye. 2 plates and I continued to eat MORE! It was an awesome site. I think I could be part of the freak show at a carnival – “340 pound man runs 8 miles and then eats his weight in food! 25 cents to see it!”

My real dad and my step dad’s ex-wife attended Thanksgiving at my parents this year. Everyone was invited – even the cleaning lady where my mother works and she and her husband came! How cool is that. They spoke Spanish and I said, “Quieres Comida?” and the husband immediately said “Si!” When it comes to food I am fluent in all languages.

My real dad played Cranium with us after we had all eaten, it was the first time in my 30 years of life that I remember playing a game with him. It was weird and fun at the same time. After we played a few games we watched the Cowboys whoop up on the Bucs and then I left and finished watching the game with the Millers. Travis, Shaun and I went outside and through the frisbee for a while. The weather was awesome and it was so cool to be outside with guys that are like my brothers. We always have fun together no matter what we are doing.

All in all it was a great day. The only miserable part was how full my stomach was and how tight my pants felt, but heck, I RAN 8 MILES and so gorging was allowed.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Mavs and Cowboys are tied right now with winning records 7-4!! Wooo Hooo!! We got to beat the Spurs tomorrow night!!!
