When I was a youth leader I had the opportunity to meet many people from all over the world that had come to Texas either for seminary or to be part of Tom Nelson’s discipleship program. During that time, I met a girl named Flor from Argentina who asked me, “Who is God to you?”
This was a great question and I thought about it for a moment. I have been a Christian since the age of 5 and all my life God has always been there for me. Like a security blanket, when everything else around me was failing in my life, God was always the one constant that I could count on.
Some people think of religion as a crutch for people who are weak or people who are afraid to face the world alone. Since I have known God since the age of five I have never really had to face the world alone, but I can’t imagine living my life without him.
So back to Flor’s question…
I told her, “God is my everything. He is like a father and a friend. He is someone that I can always call on for help and for strength, and no matter what happens in life I know that he is in control.”
So who is God to you?
